Born on April 1, 1990, Mourtada Alladji Coulibaly began his career with the Parisian rap group L'Institut, formed in 2005 as the successor to Sexion d'Assaut, under the pseudonym Docteur Bériz. Brought up on the sounds of American hip-hop, notably 2Pac and Snoop Dogg, he also broadened his sphere of influence to include more mainstream artists such as Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder, before joining L'Insolent, Datif, le H de Guerre, John Kafé, L.A.S. and Abou Debeing in L'Institut. This MC collective soon stood out for its diverse musical horizons, releasing its first mixtape, Équipe de Nuit, in June 2013. Critically acclaimed for his versatility, Docteur Bériz then decided to go solo. His debut album,1974: La Vie Avant les Hits, was released in 2016, following multiple collaborations with Black M, Dry, Lartiste and The Shin Sekaï.
