Born on June 1, 1998, in Mansfield, Texas, Drake Milligan is an actor and singer best known for portraying Elvis Presley in the 2017 miniseries Sun Records. He became interested in music as he grew up listening to his father’s country music collection and was inspired to sing and perform after seeing an Elvis Presley impersonator. Drake Milligan’s early performing career as an Elvis impersonator himself led to him answering a casting call for Country Music Television’s (CMT) series Sun Records. The TV series was based on the musical Million Dollar Quartet, which was co-created by Colin Escott, who wrote or co-wrote all episodes of the series. When Drake Milligan won the role of a young Elvis, he relocated to Nashville, Tennessee to film the series. Sun Records debuted on CMT in February 2017 and ran until April of that year. Choosing to remain in Nashville, he surrounded himself with some of the city’s finest seasoned musicians and composers and started studying songwriting. In 2018, Drake Milligan competed on the televised talent show American Idol but ultimately dropped out so he could focus on his own career. After several more years of songwriting and performing, he released his self-titled debut EP in 2021. Finally ready to move to the next level, Drake Milligan auditioned for America’s Got Talent in June 2022 and performed “Sounds Like Something I’d Do”, the final track of his 2021 EP. He received four ‘yes’ votes and earned a spot on the show.
