Dulce María Espinosa Saviñón (December 6, 1985), who goes by just her first two names as a performer, was a child star on Mexican television before gaining attention as a singer with the pop group K.I.D.S. in 1996. After a stint with another group called Jeans, she won fame on the TV series Rebelde in 2004 and joined the pop group RBD, with whom she had many hit recordings and a TV series titled RBD: La Familia (2007). Other TV appearances include Verano de Amor (2007), Mentir Para Vivir (2013), Lying Heart (2016), and Papis Muy Padres (2017-2018). She has also been active on behalf of humanitarian causes and established her own charitable foundation. Her 2010 EP Extranjera: Primera Parte went to Number 11 on Billboard's Latin Pop Albums Chart and Number 66 on the Top Latin Albums Chart, and a 2011 album with the same name reached Number 20 on the Latin Pop Chart and Number 66 on the Latin Albums Chart. Her 2014 album Sin Fronteras peaked at Number 6 on the Latin Pop Chart and Number 40 on the Latin Albums Chart. Released three years after her last album, her third studio full-length DM cracked the Mexican Top 10 in 2017 and was followed by another recording hiatus that ended with Origen’s appearance in 2021. That same year, she also collaborated with Marília Mendonça on the hit single “Amigos con Derechos,” unveiled shortly after the Brazilian singer’s untimely death in a plane crash.
