Blues guitarist and singer Brooks Mason is better known by his stage name Eddie9V or Eddie 9Volt. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, in June 1996, he was fascinated by the blues from an early age, and grew up with a guitar from the age of six. He learned the classics of the genre and began performing with his own bands, The Smokin' Frogs and then The Georgia Flood. He recorded two albums on a local independent label, Hubbub! Music: Left My Soul in Memphis (2019) and the live recording Way Down the Alley (2020) received critical acclaim, attracting the attention of installed label Ruf Records, with whom Eddie 9V signed for the follow-ups, Little Black Flies (2021) and Capricorn (2023), recorded at the famous Capricorn Studios in Macon, Georgia, home to such soul and blues greats as Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett and The Allman Brothers Band. In 2024, Eddie 9V delivers a new album entitled Saratoga.
