Taha Fahssi was born on August 3, 1996 in Casablanca, Morocco. Tempted by a musical career, he made his debut in 2016, choosing the pseudonym ElGrandeToto, and quickly established himself as a name to watch among young Moroccan rappers. With his track "Pablo", ElGrandeToto presents an effective and innovative trap in the country's musical landscape, garnering several million listens. Surfing on this sudden notoriety, the rapper followed up the next year with a first EP, Illicit (2018), which refined his style. He continued his ascent and racked up hits, particularly his track "Hors série" (2020). The same year, he won the award for Best Hip-Hop/Rap Artist at the African Entertainment Awards in the USA, then released "Mikasa " and "Halla halla", two extracts from a debut album entitled Caméléon. Released in March 2021, the album lived up to the expectations of his fans, featuring a host of featurings including Lefa, Farid Bang and Damso. The album racked up millions of listens and was ranked in numerous charts, making ElGrandeToto the most listened-to artist in Morocco in 2021. Increasingly integrated into the Moroccan musical landscape, the rapper released "Salina" in the company of numerous national figures such as Stormy, Tagne and SmallX. His second album, 27, was released in 2023 and included collaborations with Morad, Hamza, Oxlade, Unknown T and Rondodassoa. In 2024, ElGrandeToto took part in La Fouine's Capitale du Crime Radio mixtape and unveiled the album Salgoat, with contributions from a number of fellow artists including Roi Heenok, Baby Gang, Leto, Samara, Lacrim and Kaaris. The album resonates in France, where it reaches number 48 in the sales and listening charts.
