Elyar

Elyar Afshari (born on July 15, 1995), also known as Elyar Fox, is an British-Azerbaijani pop singer-songwriter, mostly known for achieving a UK Top 5 single before the age of 19. Initially a member of pop-punk outfit Just Me Again, Afshari decided to embark on a solo career after the group disbanded in 2012. His highly-popular YouTube covers landed him a contract with RCA, with whom he released the single “Do It All Over Again” in 2013. The song, which peaked at Number 5 on the UK Singles chart, earned Afshari several invitations to perform on British TV and radio shows. In 2014, he released his first EP, The Good Friends (Acoustic) (2014), which went largely by critics and audiences alike. Shortly after cutting ties with his label, Afshari shortened his alias to Elyar and took a three-year hiatus to revamp his sound, only to reappear in 2017 with the R&B-tinged SVFARI. Recorded in his home studio, the EP spawned the single “Beautiful Human” and marked a new chapter in Afshari’s music career. “Mango” and “Airbrush” preceded the release of 2018’s Sappy, an experiment in style that further refined the singer’s newfound sound while incorporating subtle flourishes of urban pop music.
