Emi Nitta rose to prominence in the performing arts as a voice actress specialising in TV anime productions. After making her debut in 'Da Capo II' as Ricca Morizono her best known roles as an actress have been in the multi-media production of 'Long Live!' as the character Honoka Kosaka and as Tokoha Anjo in 'Cardfight!! Vanguard G'. Nitta's singing debut came in 2014 with the single 'Egao to Egao de Hajimaru Yo!'. As well as releasing a handful of singles she also has two solo albums to her credit. In 2016 she became embroiled in a minor controversy when a Japanese tabloid accused her of having had a career in adult movies prior to her rise to fame as an actress. In Japan these are serious accusations to make about an artist who presents themselves as a wholesome entertainer in the Japanese idol genre. Her management company S-inc issued a strenuous denial of the claims but the ensuing publicity may have had an adverse effect on the singer's appeal to young J-pop fans.
