Emmanuëlle

Born on October 18, 1942 in Montreal (Canada), Emmanuëlle, whose real name is Ginette Filion, is a Quebec pop singer. In 1972, she released her first single, " Emmène-moi vers le soleil ", written by Luc Plamondon to music by François Dompierre. That same year, she represented Canada at the Yamaha World Popular Song Festival in Tokyo. She won first prize with her song " La Chanson de mon pays ". In 1973, she released her first album, Le Monde À l'Envers , written by Stéphane Venne. It spent 13 weeks at the top of the charts. The songs " Et c'est pas fini " and the title track reached number one in the Quebec radio charts. In 1974, she released Chanter Pour Vivre , which also topped the charts for 3 weeks. Four songs from the album are played on Quebec radio, including the title track, " L'Idée de t'aimer ", " Le Reel facile " and " Vas-y voir ". The same year, she represents Canada at the Athens Festival. Emmanuëlle released a self-titled opus the following year. In 1978, she presented the album Je Vous Aime. She took a break from singing in the early 1980s. The singer became a restaurateur in the mid-1980s, presenting dinner shows at her restaurant. Her song " Et c'est pas fini " became popular again in 2003, when it was chosen as the theme song for the first edition of the Quebec reality show Star Académie . In autumn 2010, she published an autobiography entitled Démesures Et Passions . In 2013, she took part in the Le Retour de Nos Idoles tour with Jean-Pierre Ferland, Michel Fugain, Nicole Croisille, Claude Barzotti and Patrick Juvet.
