Error is a Cantopop boy band from Hong Kong, where vocalists Leung Yip, Dee Ho, Denis Kwok, and Poki Ng formed the group's founding lineup in 2018. All four musicians first crossed paths as contestants on Good Night Show - King Maker, a reality TV show whose winners formed the dance-pop group Mirror. Leung Yip, also known as "Fatboy," finished the show in fourth place, and he recruited three fellow contestants to form a different act, Error, during King Maker's final episodes. Adopting a mix of pop melody and comedic timing, Error debuted in late 2018 with "404," a parody of Mirror's own debut single, "In a Second." The follow-up singles "Kill My Manager" and "We Are Not Broken" were released in 2019. Meanwhile, Error maintained a presence on Hong Kong television with programs like Error Crazy Trip, which strengthened the band's reputation as a humorous pop act. In 2020, "Handsome Guys" earned Error its first commercial hit on the Cantonese charts, with the song climbing to Number 3. "I Promise" followed in 2021 and peaked at Number 7, sparking a run of Top 20 hits that included "404" and "We Don't Chok." Error's success continued into 2022, when "Love on Duty" hit Number 3 and "Never Come Back" reached Number 7.
