American hard rock band Escape the Fate are from Las Vegas, Nevada and were formed in 2004. From the original line-up the only remaining member is drummer Robert Ortiz. Lead vocalist Craig Mabbit joined the band in 2008 having previously been a member of Blessthefall and The Word Alive. The remaining members Thomas Bell and Kevin Gruft joined the band in 2012 and 2013 respectively. Ortiz is the spokesman for the band and he cites influences as diverse Eminem, Queen and Michael Jackson within the band's music. In 2005, having won a local radio talent contest, Escape the Fate received their first break in the form of an invitation from New Jersey's My Chemical Romance to appear on their tour. Indirectly this led to the band's first record deal with Epitaph and the release of their debut album 'Dying Is Your Latest Fashion' in 2006. The band have since released five further albums, all of which have been successful in the Independent Rock Chart as well as reaching the top 30 in the Billboard 200.
