Faizal Tahir is a Malaysian singer-songwriter who became famous after competing in season one of the Malaysian reality TV singing competition 'One in a Million' in 2006. Before this Tahir was part of the Nasyid vocal group Mirwana but left in 2005 due to illness. After taking part in 'One in a Million', he released the singles 'Batu & Golek', 'Mahakarya Cinta' and 'Gemuruh' from his debut album 'Aku.Muzik.Kamu', released in 2007 on Monkey Bone Records. Tahir faced controversy in 2008 for removing his shirt and belt on live television during a concert for the Malaysian channel 8TV. The stunt saw him face a three month ban from television, with 8TV calling a press conference where he apologised and pledged to take part in charity work for six months. In 2010, Tahir released his second studio album 'Adrenalin' containing the single of the same name as well as 'Hanyut' and 'Karma'. He then began to diversify his stadium rock sound with elements of electronic production, releasing his self-titled third album 'Faizal Tahir' in 2013. Signing with Warner Music Malaysia, Tahir released his fourth studio album 'Anatomi' in 2016, containing the popular single 'Dirgahayu' featuring the Malaysian singer Siti Nurhaliza. This was followed by the live album 'One Night Only' in 2018. The following year, Faizal Tahir released the orchestral ballad 'This Is Anfield' named in honour of the home stadium of Liverpool Football Club.
