Italian rap singer Fedez was born Federico Leonardo Lucia in Milan on October 15, 1989. After promoting his material through free downloads, he brought out his first studio album for Sony in 2013 titled Sig. Brainwash - L'Arte di Accontentare. The album debuted at Number 1 on the Italian charts and was later certified triple platinum; its success led to Fedez being invited to appear as a guest judge on the Italian X Factor reality show. His popularity among the TV audience led to him being invited back as a judge and firmly established his name with the Italian record-buying public. Like many new artists who have risen to fame through the medium of reality television, Fedez has been quick to capitalize on his success with no less than 18 singles between 2013 and 2017, nine of which went platinum and four went to Number 1. In keeping with his very public celebrity life, he proposed to his fiancée, the Italian fashion designer and entrepreneur Chiara Ferragni, during a sold-out concert in Verona in 2017 which was being broadcast live on TV and radio. Fedez’s fourth major-label effort, Paranoia Airlines, landed in 2019, matching the national Number 1 chart position of its three predecessors and swiftly obtaining platinum status. Featuring guest appearances from stateside rapper Trippie Redd, Swedish pop star Zara Larsson, and Wild Bandana member Tedua among others, it spawned several hit singles. In 2020, Fedez began to tease a forthcoming LP, returning to the top spot of the Italian charts with the Cara collaboration “Le Feste di Pablo” and sampling Robert Miles’ iconic trance production “Children” on “Bimbi per Strada.” The latter was included in Fedez’s fifth major-label release Disumano, which became his fifth consecutive album to snatch the top spot in Italy.
