FIESTAR

South Korean girl group Fiestar was formed under the management of Kakao M in 2012, comprising six members: Cao Lu, Jei, Linzy, Hyemi, Cheska, and Yezi, most of who had had moderate success in the industry prior to joining. Before their official debut, Fiestar gained recognition by releasing a duet with label mate IU on LOEN Entertainment's collective label album with the track, titled "Sea of Moonlight," achieving domestic chart success, reaching number 12. Fiestar's official debut came shortly after with the release of their first single, "Vista," on August 31, 2012 making its mark at number 9. Their second single, "We Don't Stop," was released on November 9, along with the B-side track "Sweet Love," which featured ballad singer Kim Yeon-woo, followed by "I Don't Know" from the single album Curious in November. 2014 was an eventful year for the group, with Cheska leaving the group unexpectedly in March, and further controversy arising only a few months later after the remaining members released non-album single titled "One More." This release faced backlash due to its risqué lyrics, leading to a ban from broadcast and seeing the group scramble to modify the lyrics for follow-up promotions. Not to be deterred, Fiestar released their first mini album, Black Label, in March 2015, featuring the title track "You're Pitiful." The EP climbed to a respectable number 11 on the charts and the following year, Fiestar launched their second mini album, A Delicate Sense, breaking through to the top 10 in the album charts and peaking at number 9. Unable to replicate this success however, Fiestar released their final single "Apple Pie," in May, and after a year of non-activity, disbanded in 2018.
