Coming to attention with their hit single Bunch Of Thyme in 1979, Foster & Allen became huge favourites of family audiences with their easy listening charm and melodic folksie ballads. Both Irish singers and accordion players, they learned their craft individually on the Irish showband circuit and got together in 1975 to play the Irish clubs in England. They got their first Irish Number1 single in 1979 with A Sprig Of Thyme, although it was another three years before it was released in the UK, eventually breaking into the British Top 20. Further sentimental hits followed with Maggie, I Will Love You All My Life, Just For Old Time's Sake and After All These Years and they became a popular MOR concert attraction; while albums like Reminiscing, Reflections, Souvenirs, Memories and By Request were also big hits. In 1987 they recorded True Love with the radio/TV presenter and singer Gloria Hunniford. In all, they've released over 30 albums and celebrated their 30th anniversary together in 2005 with Foster & Allen Sing The Number 1s - promoted by a world tour which took them to the US, Australia, South Africa and Canada, as well as the UK and Ireland. They also fronted their own TV specials and released several DVDs, achieving overall album and DVD sales of over 18 million.
