Francesca Dego

Violinist Francesca Dego was born in Lecco, Italy on March 17, 1989, to Italian and American parents. She came to international prominence with the release of her albums J.S. Bach - N. Paganini - S. Prokof'ev - C. Debussy (2005) and Sonate per Violino e Pianoforte N. 8 e N. 9 (2006). Signing with the Deutsche Grammophon label, she released her third album, Paganini: 24 Capricci, in 2012. Working with pianist Frances Leonardi, she recorded three volumes of Beethoven’s sonatas: Beethoven: Violin Sonatas Op. 12, Op. 23, Op. 47 (2014), Beethoven: Violin Sonatas Nos. 1, 2, 5 "Spring" and 8 (2014), and Beethoven: Violin Sonatas Nos. 6, 7, 10 (2015). She also accompanied many vocalists and orchestras live all around the world as well as recording albums such as Paganini - Wolf-Ferrari: Violin Concertos (2017) and Suite Italienne (2018). Francesca Dego signed with the Chandos label and released the albums Mozart: Violin Concertos No. 3 & 4 (2021), Mozart: Violin Concerto No. 1, 2 & 5 (2022) and Mozart: Violin Sonatas Op. 7 & Op. 1 with Francesca Leonardi (2022). Although best known for performing classic works, she has also recorded contemporary music by composers such as Michael Nyman, Carlo Boccadoro, Cristian Carrara, and others. Francesca Dego’s 2023 release, Mozart: The Piano Quartets, featured musical assistance from Timothy Ridout (viola), Laura van der Heijden (cello), and Federico Colli (piano), The album reached number 22 on the British Classical Music chart.
