Francesco Tristano Schlimé, a pianist with a background in the Baroque world and a penchant for contemporary music, is one of those rare, versatile and unclassifiable birds, whose work ranges from a complete set of Bach concertos to compositions by Luciano Berio. The founder of the New Bach Players Ensemble (2001) and member of the trans-genre group Aufgang has notably published Not For Piano in 2007 and Idiosynkrasia in 2010. In 2014, he recorded the four-hand recital Scandale with his counterpart Alice Sara Ott. In 2016, he met Derrick May, one of Detroit's techno pioneers. Together they record the album Surface Tension.
