An Australian singer, songwriter, and producer who crafts anthemic synth-driven pop, G Flip was born September 22, 1994 in Melbourne. Growing up, she became proficient on numerous instruments, but it was her skills as a drummer that led to professional work as a session player. She became a member of the band EMPRA, but they disbanded in 2016. After a spurt of creativity in 2017, she was ready to make her debut, dropping her first single, “About You”, in February of 2018. Both that and her follow-up single, “Killing My Time” would finish among the top 100 singles of the year in a nationwide Australian radio poll. 2019 saw the release of her biggest hit to date, “Drink Too Much”, as well as her first LP, About Us, which climbed to number 6 on the album chart thanks to its mix of catchy pop and personal lyrics. The Australian Independent Record Labels Association (AIR) Awards named her the Breakthrough Independent Artist of the Year. She remained a cultural force in 2020 with the singles “You & I” and “Hyperfine”, the latter being named one of the top 10 singles of the year by Australian radio listeners. About Us also scored a nomination that year for Best Independent Pop Album from the AIR Awards.
