The untimely death of Brazilian singer-songwriter Gabriel Diniz came as a blow to many music lovers in Brazil. Diniz, who was 28 when the light aircraft in which he was travelling after a performance in Bahia crashed in bad weather killing the singer and the two pilots. He had risen to prominence in Brazil following the release of his 2018 single 'Jenifer' which garnered 273 million streams on YouTube and helped build a social media following of more then four million fans. During his short career the singer released three studio albums and prior to his death looked set to become one of Brazil's most popular up and coming performers.
