Gesaffelstein

French DJ and music producer Mike Levy, known to the public as Gesaffelstein, was born in Lyon on June 13, 1987. His stage name is a portmanteau word, a neologism made up of the term Gesamtkunstwerk and the surname of the world-famous physicist Albert Einstein. He began composing his first songs on an analog synthesizer as a teenager and released his debut EP Vengeance Factory in 2008. Between 2009 and 2012, he released seven more EPs and collaborated with exciting artists. On Kanye West's legendary 2013 album Yeezus, he produced the songs "Send It Up" and "Black Skinhead" together with Daft Punk, among others. In the same year, he released his debut album Aleph, on which he combined industrial techno and tech house. His sound earned him further recognition in the music world. in 2015, he composed the entire soundtrack for the Belgian-French film The Bodyguard - His Last Assignment. in 2018, he is represented on the EP My Dear Melancholy by Canadian singer The Weeknd with the productions "I Was Never There" and "Hurt You". Both songs made it into the charts in Germany and the USA. When he released his second album Hyperion in 2019, he worked with The Weeknd again. Together, they landed an international hit with the song "Lost in the Fire". The track lands in the top 10 in nine countries and climbs to number 3 in the Billboard Hot Dance / Electronic Songs charts. 2019 sees the release of his ninth EP Novo Sonic System. 2021 Gesaffelstein is involved in three songs on Kanye West's tenth album Donda. Gamma, the artist's third studio album, is released at the end of March 2024.
