Despite a childhood detour to California and Alabama, Guilty Simpson's destiny is intimately linked to the city of his birth, Detroit, in 1980. The son and grandson of musicians, he began rapping at an early age as part of The Almighty Dreadnaughtz collective on the local scene, which was already rich in strong elements such as Eminem, D12, Black Milk and Slum Village. Author of numerous mixtapes and never stingy with collaborations, he also has to his credit the studio albums Ode to the Ghetto (2008), O.J. Simpson (2010) and Detroit's Son (2015).
