Gülben Ergen is a Turkish pop singer, actress, and television personality. She was born on August 25, 1972, in Istanbul, Turkey. From a young age, she showed a keen interest in the arts, with her parents supporting her passion by enrolling her in music and dance classes. Ergen's music career began in 1997 when she released her first album, Merhaba which garnered critical acclaim and commercial success, followed by Kör Aşık, in 1999, quickly rising to fame and becoming a prominent figure on the Turkish music scene. Known for her distinctive voice and dynamic stage presence, Ergen’s music has been described as a fusion of traditional Turkish folk music and contemporary pop, rock, jazz, and electronic music influences. Throughout her career, Ergen has released 11 albums, including the Diamond-certified Uçacaksın (2004) and Gold albums Gülben Ergen (2006) and Aşk Hiç Bitmez (2008) in addition to several top 5 singles including "Sürpriz" (#3) (2008), "Giden Günlerim Oldu" (feat. Oğuzhan Koç) (#1) (2009), "Şıkır Şıkır" (feat. Mustafa Sandal) (#1) (2011) and "Sen" (#2) (2013). Since then, she has received numerous awards and accolades for her work in music and entertainment including two Best Female Pop Album awards at the 1999 and 2010 Turkey Music Awards and recognized by organizations such as the Golden Butterfly Awards and the Istanbul FM Radio Awards. On April 7, 2023 she released "En Güzel Misafir", which charted at number 81.
