G-Unit

Formed in New York in 1999, G-Unit - short for Guerilla Unit - are a group of American East Coast rap artists that include 50 Cent and Lloyd Banks plus other rappers including, at times, Tony Yayo, Young Buck, the Game and Kidd Kidd. The single 'Stunt 101' (2003) peaked at number seven on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Chart and number 13 on the Hot 100 and 'Wanna Get to Know You' (2004) reached number ten on the Hip-Hop Chart and number 15 on the 100. Their first album 'Beg for Mercy' came out in 2003 ahead of planned solo releases on 50 Cent's record label G-Unit Records. 'Beg for Mercy' went to number two on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart and the Billboard 200. After their solo success, they joined up again in 2008 for 'T*O*S', which reached number two on the Hip-Hop Chart and number four on the 200. 'The Beauty of Independence' EP (2014) reached number five on the Hip-Hop Chart and number 17 on the 200 while 'The Beast' EP (2015) went to number three and number 27 respectively.
