Elevated by the kind of cinematic sensibility you'd expect from a pair of musicians who first crossed paths while working on a film score, Netherlands pop duo Haevn have been regulars on the Dutch charts since first forming in 2015. Initially comprising soundtrack composer Jorrit Kleijnen and singer-songwriter Marijn van der Meer, the pair released tracks "Where the Heart Is" and "Finding Out More" that year before expanding their lineup to welcome guitarist Tom Veugen and drummer David Broeders. The following year, on the strength of their live performances and tracks "Bright Lights" and "Finding Out More," they were nominated for an Edison Award and a 3FM Award for Best Newcomer. Bass player Mart Jeninga joined the band in 2017 and in 2018 the group signed to Warner Music Group. They released their debut full-length, Eyes Closed, that same year, which rocketed to number two on the Dutch album chart. In 2019, the band released live album Symphonic Tales on their website, spanning six songs recorded with a 50-piece orchestra. A new EP, Holy Ground, saw the light in 2022 and yielded 2022 singles in "Trade it for the Night" and the title track as well as a single in 2023: "Where Did You Go."
