Hawklords

Originally a short-lived side project formed by members of veteran British space rock band Hawkwind, Hawklords’ original line-up – which included Robert Calvert, Dave Brock, and Simon King – formed in 1978, released the album 25 Years On and toured to support the album. In 1979, the band returned to the studio, but sessions fell apart and Hawklords were put on the backburner as the group’s members pursued other interests or returned to the Hawkwind fold. However, after a temporary band was assembled in 2008 and 2009 to perform at tribute concerts to Robert Calvert and Barney Bubbles, the members decided to take their show on the road and Hawklords was reborn. Featuring Nik Turner, Harvey Bainbridge, Ron Tree, Steve Swindells, Jerry Richards, Meurig Griffiths, and Adrian Shaw, Hawklords undertook a successful tour of Europe. After the departure of several members, Hawklords released the album We Are One in 2012. The group’s line-up continued to fluctuate throughout the years with guitarist Jerry Richards being the sole remaining member since Hawklords’ rebirth in 2008. Further albums include Dream (2013), Censored (2014), R:Evolution (2015), Fusion (2016), Six (2017), Brave New World (2018), Heaven’s Gate (2019), Time (2021), Space (2023), and Relativity (2024).
