Headstones

Known for their high-energy stage presence and controversial lyrical content, Canadian hard rockers Headstones formed in Kingston, Ontario, in 1989. The group's original lineup consisted of lead singer Hugh Dillon, guitarist Trent Carr, bassist Tim White, and drummer Mark Gibson. Picture of Health, their studio debut, appeared in 1993 via MCA Records and went platinum in Canada. The following year, Mark Gibson left the group and was replaced by Dale Harrison. In 1995, Headstones scored their first charting effort with their second album Teeth and Tissue, which reached Number 62 on the Canadian charts and received a nomination for Best Rock Album at the Juno Awards. Over the next few years, the group continued to develop their punk-infused brand of hard rock music on LPs such as Smile and Wave (1997), Nickels for Your Nightmares (2000), and The Oracle of Hi-Fi (2002), their last release before calling it quits in 2003. The band reconvened for a series of shows in 2011 and officially announced their reunion in 2013 with the release of "Long Way to Neverland," the first single from their sixth studio effort, Love + Fury. Made possible thanks to a crowdfunding campaign, the album was Headstones' first Top 10 entry in Canada and was followed by the acoustic covers collection One in the Chamber Music (2014), Little Army (2017), and People Skills (2019), which featured Jesse Labovitz behind the drumkit. Flight Risk, the band's ninth full-length, appeared in 2022 and yielded the Top 50 single "Everything or Nothing at All."
