A guitarist by training, Heitor Pereira contributed to numerous recordings and was a member of the band Simply Red from 1988 to 1996. He released three albums, two of them under the name Heitor TP, before turning to film music with Hans Zimmer, a master of the genre who hired him on some twenty projects, including Gladiator, Mission Impossible 2, Madagascar and Pirates of the Caribbean. Musician, arranger and composer, he is also credited alone for the soundtracks of Dirty Dancing 2 (2004), Despicable Me 2 (2013) and The Minions (2015). In 2006, he won a Grammy Award for his arrangement of the song "What Are You Doing the Rest of Your Life?", performed by Chris Botti and Sting.
