A multi-lingual Belgian tenor, Helmut Lotti began his career in 1988 in a style that blends several genres, from pop to classical music. Born in Ghent, East Flanders, on October 22, 1969, Helmut Barthold Johannes Alma Lotigiers began his singing career with Elvis Presley impersonations. The "New Elvis" recorded two albums in Dutch, followed by the platinum-selling Memories (1993) and the gold-selling Just for You (1994). In 1995, his audience grew with the release of Helmut Lotti Goes Classic, which sold two million copies and was certified in several European countries and as far afield as Canada. This inevitably spawned the sequels Goes Classic II (1996) and Goes Classic III (1997), both of which proved popular with a wide audience. As he wandered through a wide variety of musical genres, his repertoire of hit songs expanded to include some fifteen different languages, including English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Ukrainian, Zulu, Xhosa, Ndebele, Afrikaans, Hebrew and Dutch. His popularity continued unabated over the following years, with albums including Romantic (1998), Out of Africa (1999), Latino Classics (2000), Latino Love Songs (2001), My Tribute to the King (2002), Pop Classics in Symphony (2003), From Russia with Love (2004) and The Crooners (2006). Named UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, Helmut Lotti turns to jazz on Time to Swing (2008), Christian music on Faith, Hope & Love (2015) and soul on Soul Classics in Symphony (2018). After devoting an album to the language of Dante with Italian Songbook (2021), he surveys metal territory with Helmut Lotti Goes Metal (2023).
