The singing duo Hoffmann & Hoffmann consisted of the brothers Michael Hoffmann, born on December 3, 1950 in Karlsruhe, and Günter Hoffmann, also born on October 4, 1951 in Karlsruhe. They were particularly successful in the pop genre and achieved great fame in Germany in the 1970s and 1980s. Their breakthrough came in 1977 with the hit "Himbeereis zum Frühstück", which reached high chart positions and became a classic of the German-language pop song. Another well-known song by the duo is "Rücksicht", with which they competed in the 1983 Eurovision Song Contest and came fifth. This song was very well received by the public and cemented their status as successful artists in the German music scene. Over the course of their career, they released several albums, including Himbeereis zum Frühstück (1977) and Hoffmann & Hoffmann (1983), both of which were well received. Tragically, their career together came to an abrupt end when Günter Hoffmann died in Rio de Janeiro on March 15, 1984. Despite their comparatively short career together, Hoffmann & Hoffmann left a lasting impression on the German music scene and were appreciated for their catchy melodies and harmonious vocals.
