Born in Sydney, Australia on July 31, 1997, hip-hop artist Simi Silapa is better known by his stage name Hooligan Hefs. He’s known for mixing hard-hitting musical genres like UK drill, Australian gutter rap, and European EDM. Originally influenced by 50 Cent, he made his first recorded appearance on the 2017 single “Ten Toes” by Piztol Pete and Enzo. His debut solo release was “The Party”, released in February 2019. His second single, “No Effect”, became a massive hit, which was certified Gold in Australia with more than six million streams in the first six months alone. His fifth single, “Tell ‘Em I’m Doing Eetswa”, was also a big hit. He collaborated on singles by Mntymvdesmusik, Aitch, DJ Discretion, and S1mba. Hooligan Hefs’ first single in 2020, “F.A.M.E.” (featuring Hooks, Hooligan Skinny and Masi Rooc) reached Number 88 on the Australian chart. He released the EP Living in Sin in August 2020, which featured the single “Party With Gang” (featuring Hooligan Skinny). Hooligan Hefs post-EP single “Send It” reached the Top 40 on the chart.
