Hoshimachi Suisei is a Japanese virtual streamer who presents herself as an animated anime-style character. She began her career in early 2018 by doing live streams of herself singing covers, producing original illustrations, and playing video games. Hoshimachi Suisei 's first original song “comet” arrived in November of that year, followed by “Tenkyuu, Suisei wa Yoru wo Mataide” in March 2019. Shortly after, she signed with Hololive Productions’ INoNaKa Music. The debut concert of the character’s brand new 3D model in March 2020 only expanded her online following, garnering tens of thousands of viewers on social media and considerably increasing her number of subscribers. This success was followed by the release of the single “NEXT COLOR PLANET,” which reached number 5 on the Oricon charts. She also became the host of Hololive presents Hoshimachi Suisei's MUSIC SPACE, a weekly radio show transmitted by Nippon Cultural Broadcasting. Less than a month later, Hoshimachi Suisei finally reached the top of the Japanese charts with the track “GHOST.” The single also became the first song produced by a streamer to remain in Oricon’s daily singles chart for two days in a row, peaking at number 4. In 2021, Hoshimachi Suisei released her studio debut Still Still Stellar, reaching number 6 on the Oricon Albums Chart and number 4 on the Japanese Hot Albums chart. This success was followed by a second album titled Specter, issued in early 2023, which went to number 4 in Japan. That year, she also released a non-album single titled "Xion" (ザイオン).
