I Don't Know How But They Found Me (iDKHOW) took titular inspiration from a Back to the Future quote uttered by the classic 1985 film's lovable eccentric, Doc Brown. iDKHOW was created by former Panic! At the Disco bassist Dallon Weekes and Falling In Reverse drummer Ryan Seaman in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 2016. They unleashed their debut single, "Modern Day Cain," in August 2017 and made an impact on the US Alternative charts, reaching number 8 and establishing their synthy indie-rock sound indebted to the '80s and post-punk. The Follow-up single, "Choke," came in October 2017 and the pair dropped their debut EP, 1981 Extended Play, in November 2017. 2018 saw the release of singles: funky electro-popper "Do It All the Time" and the arty post-punk of "Bleed Magic." The band unveiled their full-length in 2020, Razzmatazz, and hit their stride with "Leave Me Alone"; with the single reaching the heights of international fame, peaking at Number 12 on Billboard's Canada Rock chart and topping the US Alternative Airplay chart. They performed the track on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in 2021, marking their first live TV appearance to date. That same year, iDKHOW released a new single, "Mx. Sinister." 2023's "WHAT LOVE?" hit number 32 on Billboard's Alternative Airplay chart and served as the first single from the full-length Gloom Division, which followed in early 2024.
