Hailing from the American Midwest, rapper and choreographer IAmDLOW (an acronym for Determined, Loyal, Optimistic, and Willing to Learn) is credited with popularizing the dance craze known as "bopping." Born Daryon Martice Simmons on August 15, 1995, in Chicago, Illinois, he began dancing inspired by the iconic dance moves of Michael Jackson, Chris Brown, and Usher. In 2013, he and fellow hip-hop dancer Lil Kemo achieved local popularity by performing at dance school functions, parties, and music videos. "DLOW Shuffle," his first single, appeared later that year. More success followed with 2015 his breakout single "Bet You Can't Do It Like Me," which reached Number 45 on the Billboard Hot 100 and sparked an online dance challenge. That same year, IAmDLOW released his first mixtape, Unexpected Statement. Preceded by the non-album single "All Day" featuring Ohboyprince, a second mixtape titled I Am DLOW saw the light in 2016 via Atlantic Records, followed by Paige III a few months later.
