The Infamous Stringdusters is one of the most popular bluegrass bands of its generation. Formed in Nashville, Tennessee, in 2006, they feature musicians Andy Hall (dobro), Chris Pandolfi (banjo), Jeremy Garrett (fiddle), Travis Book (double bass), Chris Eldridge (guitar) and Jesse Cobb (mandolin). Signed to Sugar Hill Records, the band recorded Fork in the Road (2007), which won two IBMA Awards, followed by The Infamous Stringdusters (2008). Following the departure of Chris Eldridge, Things That Fly (2010) is supported by contributions from Dierks Bentley and Sarah Siskind. One of its tracks, "Magic #9", is nominated for a Grammy Award. In 2011, Jesse Cobb leaves the band, which recruits Andy Falco for the tour resulting in the album We'll Do It, released on the band's own label, High Country Recordings. Two more albums follow on the same label, Silver Sky (2012) and Let It Go (2014), before the band begins the Undercover covers series. The band then signed with Compass Records for the following album Ladies & Gentlemen (2016), featuring Joan Osborne, Lee Ann Womack, Mary Chapin Carpenter and Joss Stone. Released in 2017, Laws of Gravity won its first Grammy Award and was followed by Laws of Gravity: Live, then Live from Telluride (2018). The Infamous Stringdusters offer new compositions on Rise Sun and create a new label, Americana Vibes, under which they release Dust the Halls: An Acoustic Christmas Holiday! (2020), the EP A Tribute to Bill Monroe (2021), the album Toward the Fray (2022), the EP A Tribute to Bill Monroe and Undercover, Vol. 3 (2024).
