Inna Modja

Her mother gave her the nickname Modja when Inna Bocoum, born in Bamako in 1984, behaved like a pest. A product of the Peul people, Inna Modja went through the swinging school of Bamako's Super Rail Band. A multi-influenced artist, the Malian singer's lively soul pop is represented by her debut track "Mr H". After opening for Sliimy and duetting with Jason Mraz at the FĂȘte de la Musique, she is ready to defend her debut album Everyday Is a New World, released in October 2009. In summer 2011, the track "French Cancan" and its refrain "Monsieur Sainte-Nitouche" became an irresistible hit. The album Love Revolution provides a showcase for this gem. Inna Modja is back in 2015 with the album Motel Bamako, featuring contributions from The Noisettes, Oxmo Puccino, Cheick Tidiane Seck and Krazy Baldhead.
