Iration is a reggae/pop band based in Santa Barbara, California, known for blending reggae, dub, pop, and rock music styles. The band started in Isla Vista in 2004, where they played reggae covers in college towns, gaining a reputation for their lively performances. In 2006, they released their first EP, New Roots, followed by debut full-length album, No Time for Rest, in 2007 which shot to the top of the Billboard Reggae Albums Chart, with the single "Cookie Jar" becoming a major hit in Hawaii. Over the years, they continued to release successful albums like Time Bomb (2010) and Automatic (2013), which also took the Number 1 position. In 2015, they released Hotting Up, followed by a acoustic album called Double Up, in December the following year, featuring stripped-down versions of their songs. Their self-titled album in 2018 showcased collaborations with reggae artists like J Boog, Slightly Stoopid, and Tyrone's Jacket, however their momentum stalled in 2020, when their tour was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Regardless, the group brought out Coastin’ in July that year which climbed to number 2, selling almost 3000 copies in the first week. In 2022, they released their first official live album, Backyard Sessions: Malibu Edition and the following year, the band announced their eighth album Daytrippin’ with the title track entering the Top 40 Radio Alternative Song Chart in the U.S at number 3 in July.
