Iss 814

Originally from Baye Laye (Guédiawaye), a suburb of Dakar (Senegal), Ismaela Talla (aka Iss 814) was immersed in the world of music from an early age, thanks to his older brothers who were members of the group African Black Roots, later renamed Bat'Haillons Blin-D. He grew up obsessed with following in their footsteps, and learned to play music on his own. A law graduate from Dakar's Cheikh Anta Diop University, he eventually decided to devote himself to his career as a beatmaker, combining technical and artistic aspects. In 2014, he launched the 814 Prod collective, which brings together dancers, producers and local rappers. In 2016, he released his first opus, Real Hip Hop, and followed it up with a series of freestyles heralding the Treize Bala Mbedocratie project, which enabled him to firmly anchor his musical universe in the local hip hop landscape, drawing on committed lyrics. In 2020, he released the 7-track EP Bicrave, but he didn't forget to be a key player in a number of collaborations: he penned a number of tracks for Kaolack group Keur Gui, including the famous "Diogoufi ", and also worked with Dip Doundou Guiss, Ngaka Blin-D, Rex-T from the Y'en a marre movement, Jeeba on the hit "Décoré", and Lefa, a former member of the legendary Sexion d'Assaut.
