Ivana Wong is a Hong Kong singer-songwriter and actress. Born on June 18 1979, she made her first public appearance at the 2000 Composers and Authors Society of Hong Kong songwriters contest, where her song “It Is Just Misunderstanding and Not Tragic At All” won first prize. In 2004, Ivana Wong signed to Universal Music as a composer, lyricist and singer, and took her first steps towards stardom when she sang on a live performance of Jacky Cheung’s “I Am Really Hurt.” She released her first album Ivana王菀之 in May 2005, which was hugely successful commercially and earned her multiple awards, such as the 2005 TVB JSG Silver Award "Most Popular New Female Singer". In 2008, her album Ivana's First Mandarin Album became one of the Top 10 selling Mandarin albums of the year. In 2011, Ivana Wong wrote and recorded the song “Missed Address” as a theme song to the Andrew Lau Wai-keung film A Beautiful Life. The song received a nomination for Best Original Film Song in a Movie Picture at the 31st Hong Kong Film Awards. In 2014 she performed alongside the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra to wide success and critical acclaim. Over the next several years she became more involved in acting, while still releasing music. In 2021 she released the dark-tinged pop song “The Pink Room” as a single.
