Jac Ross is an American R&B singer from Live Oak, Florida. Largely a self-taught musician, he began singing and playing piano at the early age of 5 and continued to hone his technical skills through high school. His big break came when one of his friends ran into Grammy-winning record producer Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins at a mall and sent him one of his demos. Captivated by his soulful vocals and sheer musical talent, Jerkins signed Jac Ross to his Darkchild imprint and later helped him land a deal with Island Records. "It's OK to Be Black," his debut single, saw the light in 2020 and made waves in the R&B scene thanks to its hopeful, empowering message to the Black community in the United States. Over the next few years, singles like "Saved" (2020), "Never Say" (2021), and "So Into You" (2022) established Jac Ross as one of the most promising artists in the R&B world, drawing comparisons to his longtime musical heroes Sam Cooke and Marvin Gaye. In 2022, he lent his voice to the track "Count on Me," which appeared in the soundtrack of the animated film DC League of Super-Pets.
