Jacques Salvail

Born in Montreal (Canada) on February 24, 1946, Jacques Salvail is a Quebec pop singer and host. He began his career in 1966 as a host at radio station CFML in Cornwall, Ontario. He also sang with the group Les Sharades. With this group, he recorded his first single, " Comme la vie ", in 1970. The following year, he released his first album, Jeunesse Avec Jacques Salvail . He also became host of the program Jeunesse d'Aujourd 'hui after the departure of Pierre Lalonde. He held this position until 1974. In 1972, he was awarded the title of Male Revelation of the Year at the Gala des artistes. The same year, he launched the opus Mary , with the songs " C'est le rendez-vous de la jeunesse ", " Mary " and " Ne joue pas avec l'amour ", which were successful on Quebec radio. In July 1973, Jacques Salvail released the album Une Belle Histoire d'Amour. Two songs from this album hit the Quebec music charts: " Le Bonheur c'est toi " and " Une Belle histoire ", a cover of Michel Fugain's song. In 1975, he records his album P'tit Bout de Lange Feeling with the group Morse Code. He performed a series of shows with them over the following months. From 1975 to 1980, he hosted fashion shows across Quebec. From 1983 onwards, he turned his attention to theater, working with Christine Lamer, Jérôme Lemay, Marcel Gamache and Gilles Latulippe, among others. In 1986, he released the album L'Amour C'Est Comme une Chanson and scored a hit with the title track, as well as the song " Collé collé ", a cover of Compagnie Créole. In 2010, he launched the Jacques Salvail Et Ses Invités de Jeunesse tour with Gilles Girard (Les Classels), Eddy Roy (Les Bel-Air), Simon Brouillard (Les Lutins), Michel Stax and the Peter Gunn group.
