Born Jeong Jae-hyun (Korean: 정재현) on February 14 1997 in Seocho District, Seoul, the South Korean singer and actor known as Jaehyun gained prominence as a member of hit-making boy group NCT and its sub-units NCT U and NCT 127, launching his career with the group in 2016. He went on to make a name for himself as a TV host as well an actor in the web series KakaoTV and a remake of the 2001 South Korean film Bungee Jumping of Their Own. In 2022, he launched his solo music career with the R&B-flavoured single "Forever Only," written by Jaehyun alongside Dewain Whitmore Jr., Ellie Suh, Micah Premnath, and Tido Nguyen, who also produced the song. He released his debut full-length album J in 2024, which yielded singles in "Roses," "Dandelion," and "Smoke."
