NCT Dream are an award-winning K-Pop group from South Korea. The NCT stands for Neo Culture Technology and the group are the South Korean sub-unit of the boy band NCT, with rotating members who graduate and leave the band when they turn 20. There are other sub-units of NCT in Tokyo, Beijing, Shanghai and Bangkok. Their debut single was “Chewing Gum” in 2016, taken from the EP The First. Their next single was 2017's ”My First and Last”. Both Korean and Mandarin versions were released. These were followed by the EPs We Young and We Go Up in 2018. NCT Dream collaborated with English singer and YouTuber HRVY to release the single “Don't Need Your Love” in 2019. Released that same year, the best-selling We Boom EP took the group to new heights of commercial fame with the record also picking up Bonsang awards at the 34th Golden Disc Awards and 2020 Seoul Music Awards. The group’s image was allowed to mature as the band members neared graduation age and the 2020 EP Reload would be the best-selling release in terms of pre-orders. In 2021, NCT Dream issued their first full-length album, Hot Sauce, which sold over one million copies during pre-orders, and would give them their first chart-topping single, “Hot Sauce”. In June of that year, they re-released Hot Sauce with three new tracks under the title Hello Future, and the album returned to number 1 and the title track became their second top 10 hit. 2022 saw the release of their second full-length album, Glitch Mode, marking NCT Dream's second record to feature all seven members following Mark Lee's return. Channelling a more discerning hip-hop-infused R&B sound, the album went in at Number 50 on the US Billboard 200, becoming their first entry on the chart, as well as Number two on the Billboard World Albums chart. The group's third album arrived in 2023. Propelled by the singles "Broken Melodies" and "ISTJ," ISTJ zoomed to the top of South Korean's Circle albums chart and became one of the country's highest-selling albums in its first week. The album was nominated for Album of the Year at both the Melon Music Awards and the MAMA Awards. In 2024, the group dropped a new EP, Dream()scape, which was driven by the track "Smoothie" and its accompanying music video.
