Jaheim's mix of smooth soul and hip R&B proved to be a platinum-worthy combination during the early 2000s, when the singer released a string of Top 10 hits. Born in New Brunswick, New Jersey, on May 26, 1978, Jaheim Hoagland began singing at a young age, appearing at the Apollo Theater multiple times before the release of his debut album, Ghetto Love, in 2001. The record sold more than a million copies in America, propelled by the Number 2 hit "Could It Be" and the Top 10 single "Anything." His follow-up album, Still Ghetto, went platinum one year later, while his three follow-up releases — Ghetto Classics, The Makings of a Man, and the Grammy-nominated Another Round — all climbed to gold status. Meanwhile, Jaheim became a global chart-topper as the featured guest on Nelly's hit song "My Place," which climbed to Number 1 in the UK, Australia, and New Zealand in 2004. Appreciation Day, his sixth solo album, was released in 2013, followed by Struggle Love in 2016.
