Indian film score composer, music producer, and playback singer Jakes Bejoy was born in Kerala on March 2, 1972 and has worked across the Kollywood, Tollywood, Mollywood, and Bollywood industries. Classically trained in the Carnatic music tradition of southern India, he made his foray into film composing with the 2014 Indian Malayalam-language social thriller film, Angels. The following year, he scored the music for his first Tamil movie, action flick Thakka Thakka. Other notable films in his repertoire include the critically acclaimed critically 2016 thriller Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru, 2018's Ranam, Queen, and Swathanthryam Ardharathriyil. That same year, he also completed his Telugu debut, Taxiwaala, a supernatural comedy thriller starring Vijay Deverakonda, while in subsequent years he continued to add to his oeuvre, including a string of movies in 2021. Among these were the Malayalam-language crime thriller Operation Java and Malayalam-language black comedy Bhramam. In 2022, he worked on a number of Malayalam-language movies including Pallichattambi, Kumari, and Jana Gana Mana. Jakes Bejoy has also forged a career as a playback singer, singing in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi.
