Jala Brat

Jala Brat is one of the most prominent rappers and producers in the Balkan urban music scene. He was born Jasmin Fazlić on October 16, 1986, and started rapping over his own beats in 2004. After forming a hip-hop group with Bluntbylon and Smayla, he released his debut EP Replay in 2011, which featured the first collaboration with future partner in crime and fellow rapper Buba Corelli. His studio debut Riječ na riječ arrived in 2012 and was followed by a collaborative album with Buba Corelli titled Pakt s Đavolom two years later. The album represented a major breakthrough for the duo, quickly becoming a smash success in their native Bosnia and Herzegovina. In 2016, Jala Brat went on to collaborate with renowned turbo-folk artists Dado Polumenta, Maya Berović, and Elena Kitić, and represented Bosnia and Herzegovina at the 61st edition of the Eurovision Song Contest with the track “Ljubav je” featuring Dalal, Deen, and Ana Rucner. That same year, he teamed up with Buba Corelli once again for the full-length Kruna, which took a more commercial direction than their previous albums. The duo’s fruitful creative partnership continued on Alfa & Omega (2019), a star-studded effort that included guest spots by Senidah, Rasta, and RAF Camora. In 2021, Jala Brat released his sixth long-player Futura. “Noć,” one of the singles from the album featuring German rapper Hava, reached Number 62 on the Austrian charts.
