Jang Hye Jin is a singer and actress from South Korea who began her career in music with Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation Chorus. Her first solo performance occurred in 1991, as did the release of her debut record 'Always in My Dreams', which was met with accusations of plagiarism. However, in 1994 her third album, 'Before the Party' came out to both commercial and critical acclaim with collaborators including the South Korean singer Kim Hyun-cheol involved. She has in fact released seven albums and a host of original soundtrack music for Korean movies. Her fifth album, 1998's 'Dream', saw a dramatic shift in style away from her usual pop being heavily inflected with Latin rhythms. She switched gear once again in the early 2000s when she moved to the United States and enrolled in Berkeley College of Music in Boston to study vocal training. She put her training to use in 2006 with her most recent album, '4 Season Story', which once again eschewed both slower ballads and pop as she explored a more R&B sensibility, with songs provided by Kim Do Hoon and Choi Kap Won. Since 2006 she has concentrated on TV performances, providing soundtrack recordings and appearing in TV talent shows such as 'King of Mask Singer' in 2015 and 'Fantastic Duo' in 2016.
