Jang Jae-in

Jang Jae-in, also known as Jang Jane, is a renowned South Korean singer-songwriter, born on June 6, 1991, in Gangjin-gun, Jeollanam-do, South Korea. She gained recognition after finishing third in the reality TV show Superstar K2 in 2010. Her talent was evident as she led the online poll for four consecutive weeks on Superstar K2 before being eliminated in the Top 3 Week, receiving the second-highest number of online votes behind John Park. Jang began writing songs at the age of 15 and pursued her passion for music despite being an outstanding student. She changed her original name, So-min, to Jaein, which means "talented person" in Korean. At 16, she moved to Seoul, where she started busking on Hongdae's streets, later performing regularly in several live clubs after enrolling at Howon University (music major). In 2013, Jang was officially diagnosed with stress-related dystonia and received medication and Pilates therapy to manage her condition. In 2016, Jang won the Seoul Music Awards with the original soundtrack for the television series Kill Me, Heal Me. Jang's debut studio album, The Quest of Anxiety, was released in 2020 with several EPs released earlier in her career like Day Breaker (2011), Summer Night (2012), Liquid (2015) and Inner Space (2019).
