His journey into the entertainment world commenced at the age of five when he was discovered by a talent scout, leading him into a modelling career. By 1997, his acting career took off when he landed a role in the sitcom Selling Happiness. Despite his early start, Jang experienced an international upbringing, spending his teenage years in New Zealand, where he honed his skills in English and Japanese. Throughout the 2000s, he continued to excel in both television and film, participating in various projects such as Do Re Mi Fa So La Ti Do and Beethoven Virus. Jang's music career officially kicked off with the release of his single “Let Me Cry” in April 2011. Subsequently, Jang introduced the rock and electronic-infused EP Lounge H exclusively in Japan in March the following year. A few months later, he launched his first full-length Japanese album, Just Crazy (2012), which not only secured the top position on the Oricon chart but also marked a milestone as the first male artist and foreign performer to achieve this feat with a debut album. In the ensuing years, Team H continued to make waves with the release of two more albums, I Just Want to Have Fun (2013) and Driving to the Highway (2014), while Jang pursued his solo endeavours, dropping albums like Nature Boy (2013) and Monochrome (2015).
