Jão

João Vitor Romania Balbino, professionally known as Jão, is a Brazilian singer-songwriter born on November 3, 1994, in Américo Brasiliense, São Paulo. Jão began his musical journey by posting cover songs on his personal streaming channel in 2016. These covers caught the attention of producers Pedro Dash and Marcelinho Ferraz, leading to his signing with Head Media, a subsidiary of Universal Music Group. Jão released his debut single, "Dança pra Mim," with Pedrowl in November 2016. In 2017, he released the singles "Ressaca" and "Álcool," followed by collaborations on "Só Love" and an EP featuring remixes of "Ressaca." His breakthrough came in January 2018 with the release of "Imaturo," which reached number 1 on the local streaming charts and earned a diamond certification in Brazil. In August 2018, Jão released his debut album, Lobos, featuring the hit single "Vou Morrer Sozinho." The album's success led to the Lobos Tour, which lasted until June 2019. Jão's work on Lobos earned him the #Prestatenção award at the 2018 MTV Millennial Awards Brazil. His second album, Anti-Herói, was released in October 2019, featuring singles like "Enquanto Me Beija" and "Essa Eu Fiz pro Nosso Amor." The Turnê Anti-Herói tour followed, extending into early 2020. In 2020, Jão released a live album, Turnê Anti-Herói (Ao Vivo), and collaborated with artists like Ivete Sangalo and Vitor Kley.
