Born Jasmine Wong Chu Qing on November 8, 1995 in Singapore, the electro-pop producer and singer-songwriter better known as Jasmine Sokko released her debut single "1057" in 2016, which she wrote and produced, before rising to the top of the country's music game after making an impression with her 2018 debut single "HURT," released on Warner Music Singapore. A stream of English-language singles followed, including 2019's "TIRED" – released the same year Sokko became the first Singaporean to win Best Southeast Asia Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs) in Spain – and "Mess" in 2020, blending elements of synth-pop and deep house. In 2021, Sokko – who often conceals her face with a mask – released "Medusa," marking her first English single since 2020's "Mess."
