American Jeane (Jean Ann) Manson, born in Cleveland, Ohio, on October 1, 1950, came to the attention of the French in 1976 with the hit "Avant de nous dire adieu", which sold over two million copies and made her a popular singer. In 1979, she took part in the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "J'ai déjà vu ça dans tes yeux". She remains a household name across the generations, with some twenty albums and twenty-four million records sold to her credit. The singer, who has been awarded the insignia of the Ordre National du Mérite and Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres, reappeared in 2001 with a gospel album, then in 2016 with Amour: Le Seul Soleil du Coeur.
